So we're having a rainy, windy day in the Hudson Valley today. I woke up and thought, "Well, if it's not snow, I'll take it." Then, I was making lunch. Andrew was in the living room. While talking to him, I saw something white flash past the window. When I investigated further, I saw that a large portion of our birch tree had fallen into the yard!
Luckily, it didn't hit anything in the yard.
The skyline of our yard does look like it's missing something now, though.
But everyone is safe and sound, so that's what counts. I think the real question is why do Andrew and I cause trees to fall? It's like a lame super power or something.

Dog Days of Summer
It's currently 100.6 degrees outside, and it's 94 degrees inside! Whew, it's rough without air conditioning. Even though it's so hot, we've managed to have some pretty cool adventures so far this summer (how cheese-y could I be?).
Waterfall hikes in PA
Fireworks at the Accord Speedway
and discovering new swimming holes!
Stay cool!

Vive Le Difference
Or not.
Last week, it was beyond beautiful. Spring had sprung. It was in the 60s and sunny and wonderful and life was grand. We were going for hikes on a daily basis and I was happy as a clam. In fact, it was so warm, we bumped into this little guy on a walk.
Then, we woke up this morning to go for a walk with some friends. It was 29 degrees. And windy. Kind of like the opposite of last week. Today, we saw things like this.
It's supposed to warm up again next week. And there are signs that spring may actually be on its way.
Let's hope spring will be here to stay soon!

Walk on the Rail Trail
Going for a walk on the rail trail is one of my favorite things to do. And with this string of beautiful weather, I have been going for a walk or hike somewhere pretty much every day. Yesterday, we went for a walk and had quite the time.
The moss is so vibrant.
Quincy went for a quick dip- Quicy because the water was soooo cold.
We got up close and personal with a snake enjoying the spring sunshine.

New Year, New Post.
Ok, ok, I've been busy the past few months. Working and school and life has kept me busy But I still manage to have my fair share of adventures. So I am going to really try to document my shenanigans on my good old blog. It's not a New Years Resolution or anything-I believe that they just set you up for failure and disappointment. Like if you're going to do something, the only reason should be yourself. Not a date, not another person. You. I'm off.
