Today's song is one of my favorite Christmas songs. This song definitely reminds me of growing up. And it also makes you think. Let's all try to get out there in 2008 and be better people. Like should you spend the extra $2 on a coffee or could you donate $2 to someone who needs it a lot more than you need your cup of joe.

Best of 2007

Since I slept all day, now of course I can't sleep tonight. So I figured that I'd take the time to make today's blog post (after all it is after midnight) and make a Best of 2007 List.

Best new job: Franciscan- Granted I complain about this and that, but it's a good job. I like it 95% of the time and I'm making good friends there.


Most exotic vacation: Morocco- Eating camel, getting excited when there's running water, watching a friend knock over a watermelon cart... ah the memories.


Worst injury: My ankle- it's the injury that keeps on getting re-hurt!


Best new edition to the family: She-Ra- She does drive me crazy from time to time, but I don't know what we'd do without her.


Best new celebrity crush: Joba Chamberlain. I have Joba Fever! Can't wait for April!


Best new hobby: Windowsill gardening- Even though the heater is not so good for my plants, but I am still trying my best to care for them.


Best BumbleBee- ME!!


Most missed family member: My Nana- I miss her every day.


Best Music Video: Born to Run- enough said.

In a Perfect World

I got my new digital camera yesterday. We picked it out and my mom is giving us $$ for it for Christmas. It was supposed to be shipped to her, but billed to us. Yesterday, the camera was delivered up here. And it's on my credit card bill. Weird, huh?

Anyway, in a perfect world, we wouldn't have gotten another inch of snow this morning on top on the 16 inches that are on the ground. I miss last winter with its 70 degree temperatures.
This morning's snow was big huge white flakes, and She-Ra spent an hour hunting them through the window. She kept smacking the window and making battle cries!
In a perfect world, I could let her go outside and play without all the worries, health problems and risks of her being an outdoor cat.
In a perfect world, I wouldn't have to get ready to go into work tonight!
And in a perfect world, situations would be more like this song than like the real world since the reason for wars comes down to one thing: who you say God is.

This song always confused me. The kid seems pretty cool with his mom macking it with Santa. And he thinks that his dad would get a kick out of it, too. I don't know. Maybe he's full of the holiday spirit or something. I think that I like Christmas as much as the next guy, but if I saw Andrew kissing Mrs. Claus, there'd be a cat fight. HISS!

Deep Freeze

I met Andrew in Central Square last night for dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant. They were supposed to be open. The sign said open and all the lights were on, however the door was locked. That is the 3rd time that we went to the same restaurant, but they were only open once- even though their schedule says that they should have been open every time we went. Andrew has had a hankering for steak and there is a steak place near us that we've been wanting to try. We took the bus from Central Square and only had a short walk to the restaurant.
We split crab cakes for an appetizer and they were very yummy. Andrew had a "Black and Blue" steak that was the perfect shade of pink on the inside. I wasn't in a steak mood, so I had a Spinach Pie. It was spinach (of course) with almonds and cream sauce with puff pastry. That was really good. We were very happy with our meal and we would go back again.
However our walk home from the restaurant was REALLY cold. It was only like a 15 minute walk, but the temperature was about 20 degrees and it was WINDY!! I was so cold. Even when we got home, I didn't really warm up. We got home at like 8 and at 10 my legs were still cold to the touch. I am seriously finished with this cold weather. If only nature would grant me my wish...

I was going to put this song yesterday for our year and a half anniversary, but after watching The Year Without A Santa Claus" I was all about Snow Miser and Heat Miser. This song is a lovely song and if anyone is planning a December wedding, I think this song would be very appropriate. Enjoy.

What were you doing a year and a half ago today?

I know exactly what I was doing a year and a half ago. In fact, it was at exactly this time, too! I was getting married! I can't believe that we've been married that long already. It still feels like we just got hitched. We're going to celebrate by going out for Ethiopian food tonight. Yummy!


Anyway, yesterday, while getting ready for work, I caught "The Year Without A Santa Claus" on TV. My favorite part is of course the Snow Miser vs Heat Miser part. So todays song choice was a no brainer. Oh- and in case anyone was wondering- I think I side with Heat Miser!

1, 2 punch

We're still recovering from the huge snow storm from Thursday and now we also have to brace for the storm that's coming in tonight into tomorrow. Our 8 inches of snow has only been moderately shoveled (when I was walking to the bus stop last night, the bus stop itself was shoveled out to the road, however to get to the bus stop from either side of the sidewalk, you had to climb through tons of snow!!) And now they're calling for 3 to 5 inches by the time this next storm moves out tomorrow evening.

Snow Emergency

Yesterday, we got hit with the massive snow storm that was working its way across the country. It started to snow here at like 12:30- just flurries. By 1pm everything was already covered!
Andrew works less than 3 miles from home. He got on the bus at 3:10pm and didn't walk through the door until 4:55!! Everything was stopped! The news was saying that people who live 30 miles outside the city had a 5-6 hour commute home last night!
Needless to say, Andrew wasn't too happy when he got home. He ended up ditching the bus just over a mile away from the apartment and walked the rest of the way. And he still got home before the bus passed him again! I greeted him with a cup of hot chocolate we relaxed for a while.
Once the snow stopped coming down so quickly, we thought it would be fun to take Quincy out and look at all the snow. Quincy loves the snow. As soon as he's outside in snow, he starts to frolic!
You can't really tell he's frolicking in the pictures b/c I made him stop to take the pictures, but notice how far in front of us he is? He's a quick frolicker.

We took a peek at our car. We don't have a shovel, but we need to get one soon otherwise our car isn't going anywhere until spring.

We planned on taking Quincy to the park, but on the way there, we passed a house where they had salted the sidewalk and the road. I think the salt must have stung little chapped spots in Quincy's paws because he froze right there and started to whine and hold his paws up. I tried to clean them out with snow, but he was still limping, so we started to head home. Once we walked in the clean snow for a while, the salt got washed out of his paws and he started to frolic again.

He was so happy to be out in the snow...
I thought that maybe the cats wanted to play in the snow too. I didn't want to bring the cats out to the snow, so I brought the snow in to them.

She-Ra was very interested in it...

While Roxy was very upset that I put some snow on her back.

The snow is pretty, but it's a pain in the ass to clean up after.
